Blood Donation Campaign
4/05/08
MKSU & MMSA held the last Blood & Organ Donation Campaign on campus for this academic year. Just over 30 people donated blood successfully, with a number of other potential donors being asked to call again due to having eaten 'fast foods' shortly before turning up to donate blood.
The reason why MKSU, a Catholic organisation, supports and organises activities like these is that we believe that as Christians it is our duty to contribute towards 'life-saving' initiatives.
As from next semester, the Blood Mobile Unit will be back in action following its recent refurbishment.
Donate Blood!
21/04/08
MKSU & MMSA will be holding a Blood & Organ Donation Campaign on campus on Wednesday 23rd and Thursday 24th April in the room behind canteen. A stand will also be set up outside the Vodafone shop in Students' House.
While encouraging you to come and donate blood, we wish to remind you to bring your ID card with you and to remember to have something healthy to eat and to drink plenty of water before donating Blood.
If you would like to help us out on the stand, kindly send us an e-mail on activities.mksu@ gmail.com indicating a one-hour slot between 9am-2pm during which you can offer to stay on the stand.

Give BLOOD this Christmas
19/12/07
Its Christmas time again and while many of us are thinking about what presents to buy or what to do on new year’s eve it is easy to forget that while we go on holiday the hospitals do not. Operations keep going throughout the Christmas period and accidents don’t stop either.
Our appeal to each student is to think of those in need this Christmas and give a few minutes of their time to give some blood before the holidays. The Blood Donation Campaign organized by MKSU and MMSA will be held on Wednesday 19th and Thursday 20th of December.
The aim of the campaign is to create awareness about the constant need of blood donors and to facilitate blood donation amongst students at University. In every campaign we try to get as many people as we can to donate blood, since the blood donated by 1 person can be used by at least 3 people in need of it.
This campaign encourages students to donate blood for the first time and aims to collect as many blood units as possible. During this event, students are also encouraged to apply for an organ donation card, which will be available at the stand outside the canteen.
Those interested in donating blood, can do so by visiting the stand in front of the Vodafone Outlet on Wednesday 19th or Thursday 20th between 9:00am till 2:00pm. Remember to get your I.D. card with you and to drink plenty of water before donating. It is recommended that you leave two hours pass between a heavy meal and donating blood.
Help us make a difference in someone’s life this festive season by just sparing a few minutes of your time and a little of your blood!

Blood Drive & Organ Donation Campaign
MKSU & MMSA will be organising their first blood drive and organ donation campaign for the year on the 23rd and 24th of October.
The aim of the campaign is to create awareness about the constant need of blood donors and to facilitate blood donation amongst students at University.
Every day many operations are cancelled and postponed because there aren’t enough blood units in the local blood bank.
