Mr Dorian Sciberras

Mob: 99276101
Email: president.mksu@gmail.com

Course: Bachelor of Laws
Year: III

About:

I'm Dorian Sciberras and for the coming year I am going to be the President of the movement. I am 20 years old and I'm in my third year at university reading for a degree in law. I got involved in MKSU two years ago when I was just a fresher. I took part in various sub-committees. It was then that I decided to contest the election for the executive, where I got elected as the national secretary (2008/2009). Being the president is a great honour for me but also a big responsibility. Together with the rest of the executive, we plan to offer an energized and ever youthful organisation for the students at university, and at the same time continue with our mission: to promote Christian Values through Social Commitment.

General Secretary

Ms Daniela Bonanno

Mob:

Course: Bachelor of Laws
Year: II

About:

“Believe your life is worth living, and the belief will help create the fact”. This is the motto that I, as a nineteen-year-old university student reading for a degree in law, abide with everyday. It is this belief that gives me the motivation and the energy to live an active life, both at university through MKSU and outside university through the other commitments such as the National Youth Parliament. MKSU presents a challenge to me all the time, as regards the time I dedicate to it, its mission statement, its values, and so on; but fortunately we’re a great team who support each other and thus together we work to continue MKSU’s journey beyond its 80th year.

Mr Keith Izzo

Mob: 99284751

Course: B. Eng. (Hons)
Year: III

About:

I'm Keith Izzo and I'm 19 years old. I'm studying Engineering at the University, and will be going on to my 3rd year next October. I also form part of a Christian Life Community group. This is my third year as a member of MKSU. At first I was only a passive member, exposed to the organisation through my friends. However, as time went by I became more aware of the variety of activities organised and I started to get myself involved, which at the same time helped me to get to know more people. This year MKSU aims to assert itself as a movement composed of many other organisations, including more its members in the host of new activities planned. A revamp of our methods of communication, including the newsletter and website, are also in the works.

Treasurer

Ms Maria Mifsud

Mob:

Course: B. Commerce
Year: III

About:

Currently reading for a Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, I love writing, reading, surfing the internet and going out with friends. I also enjoy a good walk in the countryside and love travelling. During my sixth form years, I participated in Mini European Assembly, formed part of the school council and participated in a youth exchange in Poland. Currently, I am a volunteer with Caritas Malta working with youths. As an individual, I firmly believe that each one of us can be the change we want to see. For this reason, I value MKSU's importance on Campus a lot as it is the change we young Catholics want to see, where we are given the opportunity to transmit Christian values to others. For this reason, I have been an active member of MKSU for two consecutive years and now am going into my third one.

About:

Għaddiet sena oħra għall-MKSU! Hadt ħafna gost nara l-attivita ta' l-MKSU fuq il-Campus fl-ewwel sena tiegħi l-Universita. Inħoss li l-Moviment għandu valur kbir u qiegħed jagħmel ħafna ġid permezz tax-xhieda fl-attivitajiet li jorganizza. Il-ħeġġa tal-membri stess ħajritni biex jien ukoll nagħti s-sehem tiegħi kemm bħala student u seminarista, pero aktar u aktar bi dmir Nisrani... nistgħu flimkien inwasslu l-valuri Nsara b'leħen li jinstema u li jagħmel sens. Noħodha bħala sejħa tagħna mingħand il-Mulej, li nkunu ftit dawl fejn jidher li qed jidlam! Kos ux.. Minjaf x'qed jaħmel il-Mulej bħalissa? .. Żgur qiegħed iħobb! Mela ejja nħobbu aħna wkoll! Ejja naħdmu flimkien għas-sena li ġejja.. with a BIG SMILE!

About:

I strongly believe that the university is the place where Christian values ought to be rediscovered and shared with others not only because they make one's life more complete and meaningful but also because today's students are tomorrow's professionals who will exert an influence on society. I completed my first degree in physiotherapy in 2004, after which I worked in a rehabilitation hospital for the elderly for over two years. I am now in my second year of discernment and formation at the Archbishop's Seminary for priesthood and am reading for a bachelor's degree in sacred theology at university.

KPS Officer

Mr Andrew James Sammut

Mob:

Course: B.Sc. Biology and Chemistry
Year:

About:

I’m Andrew James Sammut, a 21 years old student currently reading for a degree in Chemistry and Biology. I have been a member of MKSU since my first year but this year I’ve decided to get more involved in University life by accepting the nomination to be part of its Executive. I truly believe in the values of MKSU, and that was what initially motivated me to get involved in this organisation. In promoting Christian values, MKSU aims at portraying that Christian life is still holistic and full of meaning, even though we are living in such a secular society as today’s. I firmly believe that MKSU must reach out to the students so as to be nearer to them. I'm really looking forward to work with the new Executive and I truly believe that we can actually make a difference on Campus!
